My Journey

Based in Melbourne, I'm a Product & UX Designer with 13+ years of experience transforming complex challenges into intuitive digital experiences. My journey spans sales, marketing, technical support, and design leadership at organisations like Newmont. This diverse background has equipped me with something invaluable, over a decade of deep empathy for users, earned through years of customer-facing roles that now inform every design decision I make.

This diverse background gives me a unique perspective on user needs, particularly when contributing to safety-critical systems that directly impact lives. I'm passionate about leveraging emerging technologies like AI and GenAI to create meaningful experiences that balance user satisfaction with business outcomes. Whether partnering with agile startups or established enterprises, I use human-centred design to solve complex business challenges.

Photography

I started photography at 5 when my father gave me a Yashica camera. He taught me that great images are about frame, composition, and timing—not just beauty. We'd develop film together, learning from each shot.

Now shooting with a Canon 5D Mark III, my 20+ year photography journey fundamentally shapes my design practice. Portrait work taught me human-centred approaches that translate seamlessly to UX design. Compositional decisions developed my intuitive grasp of visual hierarchy, while frame constraints mirror designing for mobile accessibility.

Most importantly, observing human behaviour through the lens enhances my user research capabilities. Photography has been a lifelong education in visual communication and human psychology, making me a more empathetic, detail-oriented designer.

Publications

One of the high points in my photography career was when Oman Magazine ↗ published my photographs during my tour of the country. I played my visual strengths of capturing people in their moment, the native farmers of Oman in the deserts of Salalah ↗ with their livestock and the pictures came out really well.
